In his lecture, Prof. James N. Green (Brown University, USA) will examine Brazil’s modern history regarding questions of conflict regulation, for example through compromise. He is Professor Emeritus of Modern Latin American History and Professor Emeritus of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies and previously lived in Brazil for over ten years.
Prof. James N. Green was jointly invited by the research network ‘Cultures of Compromise’ (based at the University of Duisburg-Essen, University of Münster and Ruhr University Bochum, funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia), by Prof. Susanne Zepp-Zwirner, Professor for Spanish and Hispano-American Literary Studies (Essen), and the research initiative ‘Agonistic Plurality’ (Essen and Münster).
